This is Mr. Barnard's first year as May Street's interim principal and his 20th year in education. In his career as an educator, he has worked as a classroom teacher for third, fourth, and fifth-grade students, an English Language Development specialist, an instructional coach, and an administrator. Mr. Barnard worked at Westside Elementary for the past four years as the vice principal. He loves and appreciates all of the opportunities living in the Columbia Gorge area affords, especially skiing and hiking. Mr. Barnard lives in Parkdale with his wife, eight-year-old son, four-year-old daughter, and an immortal cat.

This is Ms. Lloyd's second year at May Street Elementary and 21st year in public education. She started her career working for two years as an English language teacher in Japan, followed by one year as an English Language teacher at the University of Washington extension program, and one year at the University of Portland extension program. After returning to school to get her teaching license, she was a classroom teacher for nin years and a special education teacher for 11 years. Last year, Ms. Lloyd moved from the Portland area to Hood River to serve as May Street's instructional coach. This year, she is honored and excited to be the interim vice principal.
